Stop Smoking Practitioner Programme (SSPP)

SSPP is designed to establish a national standard of practice in smoking cessation. The training combines best practice concepts and methods to help the New Zealand stop smoking workforce achieve a national standard of quality practice.
SSPP will develop your core competencies in stop smoking treatment and practice. As a result of this course you will be enrolled in the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3), Support Wor and receive NZQA credits.
There are 15 NZQA unit standards included in the Stop Smoking Practitioner Programme. Completing the training will earn you a national qualification that will recognise the great work you do in smoking cessation. The qualification will support you with future pathways you may choose.
The Stop Smoking Practitioners’ Programme  is the first accredited course of the National Training Service, which is being established by Inspiring on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
